In my version, I bring her forward into the 21st century, into a world shaped by new powers, global conflict, and shifting identities. In the original, her green skin made her exotic and distant. In Chinese Girl 2.0, she becomes more aware — no longer just looked at, but looking back. Her gaze now reflects a rising East, global surveillance, and the powerful economic and political influence of modern China. She is silent, but not submissive. Her stillness holds tension — between China’s dominance, Russia’s defiance, and the West’s uncertainty, including the populist return of figures like Donald Trump.
