Studio Notes — The Priest (2026)
This body of work begins with line drawings before any painting occurs.
Full-scale paper studies are used to resolve structure, load, and balance.
Repetition is essential. No final work begins until the figure can stand — not emotionally, but structurally.
Gesture is reduced. Narrative is removed.
The aim is not expression, but presence.
